Meet Our Young Pianist – Eugene Ho

A talented 12-year old pianist from our school, Eugene Ho, dazzled audiences at the Hong Kong Joy of Music Festival 2023. Organised by the Chopin Society of Hong Kong Ltd, this prestigious festival showcases world-renowned artists as well as up-and-coming young musicians at the iconic Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall.

Eugene has been passionate about piano from a young age, beginning lessons at just 3 years old. He currently studies in the Junior Music Programme at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. By the age of 5, Eugene had already obtained Grade 5 theory and piano certificates from ABRSM and performed at Carnegie Hall in New York. At the age of 9, he passed the Associate of Trinity College London (ATCL) Piano Level 4 Diploma in Music Performance.

Throughout these years, Eugene has achieved remarkable results in competitions both locally and internationally. Some of his accolades include Gold Champion at the Hong Kong Children & Youth Piano Contest, Champion at the V International Liszt Ferenc Competition in Hungary, and First Prize at the 7th GOCAA International Piano Competition. He was also named Global Final Champion at the Hong Kong International Music and Arts Festival in 2022.

We are incredibly proud of Eugene's dedication to his craft and his musical talents. His performance was a wonderful showcase of his skills. Congratulations to Eugene on this well-deserved recognition!
