Exchange Programme in Denmark

With the continuous effort to provide students with ample opportunities to experience cultures other than Chinese, four Grade 9 and five Grade 10 students visited Odsherreds Efterskole (OE), a boarding high school in Denmark in early November. Our students received warm hospitality from OE students and teachers during the visit.

On weekdays, our teens lived in the dormitories and attended lessons with their Danish buddies such as robotics. They got a taste of the traditional local cuisine of “Smørrebrød” (open sandwich) and learnt how their buddies did the kitchen duty at the school cafeteria.　　　Apart from attending lessons, our students explored Copenhagen and visited Christiansborg Palace where they learnt about the history of the Palace and the Danish Royal Family. They even got a chance to walk around all the special rooms, such as the Royal Reception Room and the Great Hall, where the Royal members hold the official functions.　To make their trip even more fruitful, each student had the opportunity to stay with a local family on the last weekend to experience the Danish culture and life style.

This exchange programme provided students with life-long friendship and further enhanced their creativity, critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills.

Exchange programme is an integral part of learning at A-School.  It greatly contributes to students’ personal growth and international outlook.  As one of the founding members of the World Education Alliance (WEA), we arrange a series of exchange programmes with our partner schools within the WEA network and other sister schools every year.
