Badminton Team Update

The Inter-school Badminton Competition (ShaTin & Sai Kung District), co-hosted by Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation and Leisure and Cultural Services Department, was successfully held from 6th November to 20th November 2021. There were in total 15 secondary schools participating in the competition and our students finally showed their best performance after the 2-year suspension of inter-school competitions.

Four of our students — 11D Leung Wing Sum, 11D Lok Kin Ching, 11D So Chuk Toon Natalie and 11C Hung Fu Kei, represented our school to participate in the competition in Girls A Grade category. They entered the quarter-final on 6th November by beating Stewards Pooi Kei College, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Mrs. Fung Wong Fung Ting College, Lam Tai Fai College with results of 3-0, 3-0 and 3-0 respectively.

Without losing a game in the group matches, our students kept their strong spirit in the final match on 20th November. They entered the final by beating Ma On Shan Tsung Tsin Secondary School with the score 3-0 and won the Champion by beating Pui Kiu College with the score 3-0!

Besides, despite limited training opportunities and strong rivals in competitions, two students from our Primary Division, 6C Tam Hazel and 6D Tam Sin Man Cherry, participated in the All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Badminton Tournament and achieved good results. Hazel entered the quarter final by defeating the strong opponent from SKH Yautong Kei Hin Primary School and Kowloon Tong School (Primary Section) and ranked the 8th place in all Hong Kong Primary Schools.

While in the Secondary Division, two of our students 11D Lok Kin Ching and 11C Hung Fu Kei entered the quarter final after winning over the strong opponent from Heep Yunn School and Good Hope School respectively and got the 5th and 6th place respectively in the Secondary School competition

The girls demonstrated perseverance and excellent team spirit throughout the tournament and under challenging conditions. Their ambition of winning, the sportsmanship and good attitude during trainings and competitions set an example for the youngsters of our Girls Badminton Team!
