Award for Arts Education in Schools 2021

The 16th Hong Kong Arts Development Awards Presentation Ceremony organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council was held through a live broadcast on 22 May. We are excited to announce that, after 2014 and 2017, this is the third time that our school was presented the “Award for Arts Education in Schools”!

Hong Kong Arts Development Awards is an annual highlight in the arts calendar of the city, which aims to recognise local artists, arts organisations, schools and institutions in recognition of their unstinting support and contribution to the development of arts in Hong Kong; and the Award for Arts Education in Schools particularly recognises schools that have outstanding accomplishments in arts education.

The epidemic may have caused us inconvenience and challenges but it did not stop us from developing the arts and culture in A-School. With the theme “Flourish from Me to We”, our VA team had organised a variety of arts events, including two Artists in Residence programmes, artists sharing sessions, art exhibitions under different themes and also published a booklet showcasing students’ artwork. These events in the past year have involved over 5,000 participants including students, teachers, staff, parents, alumni, arts educators, etc. Through students’ creative works, we wish to inspire an appreciation for art in a wide audience and re-establish relationships among people in the community.
