News date

Five students from the Secondary Division participated in the "My Folk Albums – Hong Kong and Mainland Students Exploring Shaanxi", a photography and cultural exchange programme in the summer holiday.  It was very encouraging that G10 student AU Kin Long’s photographic work entered the Final Competition and received the Best Photography Award.

The Final Competition cum Award Presentation Ceremony was held in Hangzhou on October 13, 2018 where Kin Long introduced to the audience the story and creative idea behind his photographic work.   He also shared his valuable experiences after joining this programme through which he had a deeper understanding of the Chinese culture.

Co-organised by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, Taiwan Soka Association, China Ethnic & Folk Culture and Arts Exchange Association (HK) and Cross-Strait Culture & Creative Industries Research Alliance, “My Folk Albums” provided a platform for students from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong to reach out to different ethnic groups in China and foster cultural exchange.  The programme not only allowed them to feel the Chinese culture up close and personal, but also capture the uniqueness of folk culture through their camera lenses.

A-School always encourages students to participate in various types of cultural exchange activities to interact with people from different places so as to develop their strengths and interest, as well as broaden their horizon.
