Meeting with Hon Lai Tung Kwok, GBS, IDSM, JP

Every year, our Excel 33P students invite outliers to visit A-school and share their inspirational stories. These experiences allow our students to connect with professionals and create meaningful learning connections. It is our great pleasure to have Hon Lai Tung Kwok visit A-school to share his personal experience with our students. Hon Lai Tung Kwok is the Former Secretary for Security of HKSAR, Legislative Council Member, New People's Party Executive Vice Chairman and the member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, GBS, IDSM, JP. Our students have been working hard in preparation for Hon Lai Tung Kwok’s visit, from researching and understanding the guest speaker’s background to formulating meaningful questions to ask in the forum.

An open forum “Up Close and Personal with Hon Lai Tung Kwok” and a general talk were held. Principals, PTA Exco members, and around 450 students from G4-6 attended the event. Before Hon Lai Tung Kwok's sharing, one of the Excel 33P students, Linus Cheung Ho Lun, gave a welcoming speech introducing Hon Lai Tung Kwok’s background to A-school students and expressing gratitude for his visit.

Hon Lai Tung Kwok shared his philosophy and experiences as a government official with the Excel 33P students and our fellow G4-6 students. Through sharing his past experiences and stories in handling some difficult situations, he encouraged our students not to give up easily when they encounter challenges. Hon Lai Tung Kwok believes that there are new challenges to meet every day. The key to success is to have constant perseverance to overcome challenges and to continue to work hard towards the goals we set. We learn lessons from our failures and should always be proactive in searching for solutions to solve problems. He also reminded us that every one of us should be humble to learn from others and responsible in fulfilling one's duties. We can contribute to a better society if we all do our part.

We are pleased to have such an inspirational leader from the HKSAR government sharing his experience with our students. Hon Lai Tung Kwok’s sharing is truly motivational, and we believe our students learned a lot from him. A-School is dedicated to nurturing future leaders for the community. Students will continue to learn from outliers like Hon Lai Tung Kwok to equip themselves to be successful leaders.
