Finland Adventure: A Journey of Discovery
We just returned from an incredible school trip to Finland, where our students explored the fascinating themes of aviation, ecology, and culture through a variety of inspiring visits!
Our journey began in Tampere at the Children’s Cultural Workshop Rulla, a vibrant space where students discovered their inner artists and engaged in creative workshops. We then immersed ourselves in the whimsical world of the Moomin Museum, exploring Tove Jansson’s beloved characters and Finnish storytelling traditions.
Athletic excellence was on display at the Kuortane Olympic Training Centre, where students learned to play floorball and got a chance to experience the Olympic-level sports training and facilities. In Helsinki, we admired the grandeur of Senate Square and the iconic Helsinki Cathedral, soaking in Finnish history and architecture.
A highlight was the thrilling Flying Cinema experience, which took us on a virtual aerial tour over Finland and Helsinki’s landmarks with stunning visuals and immersive effects. Nature lovers enjoyed the serene beauty of Nuuksio National Park and the Kaupunginpuutarha City Garden, deepening their appreciation for Finland’s rich ecology.
We also explored Finnish heritage at the Seurasaari Open-Air Museum and the Old Market Hall, tasting local flavors and traditions. Science and innovation came alive at the Heureka Science Centre, and our aviation theme was perfectly complemented by a visit to the Finnish Aviation Museum, where students experienced the thrill of piloting an aircraft through flight simulators.
This trip was a perfect blend of learning, adventure, and cultural discovery, leaving our students inspired and enriched by Finland’s unique blend of nature, history, and innovation. We can’t wait to go on our next trip!
