Hong Kong - Japan Online Exchange Programme

With the mission of developing students’ local identity with global perspective, A-School strives to link up with schools around the globe, offering valuable opportunities for students to explore.

An online exchange programme with 城ノ内中等教育学校was held on 11 March 2022. It was our second exchange activity with the school in this academic year despite the pandemic situation. This time, our Grade 8 Japanese class students and gifted students discussed with the Japanese students on the development and policies in both places regarding UN Sustainable Development Goals, including no poverty, affordable and clean energy, responsible consumption and production and climate action. Students from both sides tried their very best to communicate with each other in Japanese and English. It was a great motivation for our third language learners to practice and improve speaking and listening skills while exchanging cultural values.

Big thanks go to our Japanese teacher Ms. Horiuchi Mihoko, and our teams of Global Citizenship and Gifted Education, for arranging such a fruitful experience for our students. We hope to build and maintain ongoing friendship with our partner schools and look forward to extending the programme to senior grades soon.
