Community Care and STEM in Action Project

News date

Funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the “Jockey Club Community Care and STEM in Action Project” aims to inspire students to use STEM know-how to innovate new technological ideas and products which benefit and support the underprivileged in the community.

A-School took part in the project in the 2021-22 academic year and our two outstanding projects, “Med-chine” and “Hale-ware”, were invited to be showcased at the Learning & Teaching Expo 2022. Our students, 10D Colin Cheung and 10D Ana Liu, represented A-School to introduce their project to the public. A lot of admiration and feedback were received and their prototype has been transformed into a product with the support of the Jockey Club and entrepreneurs. Both groups are now going through a mentorship programme provided by CUHK and entrepreneurs for a refining process. The final product is expected to be brought to the elderly home in future for trial.

A-School is always a place that offers opportunities, encouraging students to turn ideas into reality and dreams into actions!
