2023 Summer Vietnam Service Trip

News date

9 junior grade students embarked on a journey to Cầu Kè District, Trà Vinh Province in Vietnam on 14 Aug, and came home on 19 Aug with cherished memories that will last a lifetime. Working with the Office of Service Learning at Lingnan University, they undertook a special mission to provide service to the local community while taking responsibility for designing, preparing, and executing the service themselves. It was also the first time such a young group of students volunteered at the site. The journey provided them with opportunities to reflect on their relationships with others, society, the world, and, most importantly, themselves.

In addition to their service work, they had an authentic taste of Vietnam, both literally and figuratively. Led by local volunteers, the participants had the chance to savour local delicacies and explore the bustling streets of Ho Chi Minh City, commonly known as Saigon, to visit landmarks such as the War Remnants Museum, to learn about the First Indochina War, the Vietnam War, and their aftermaths.
