<<🎭 Legacy of HKBUAS Variety Show 2026: The Sound of Music 🎶>>

The Variety Show 2026 was a resounding success! 🎉 The performance captivated the audience and earned a full house of enthusiastic applause at the prestigious Xiqu Centre. 👏🏻 

This year’s production, 🎶The Sound of Music: A Journey of Hope, Home and Harmony, marked the first time our school staged this timeless classic as part of the Variety Show. Returning at our school’s 20th Anniversary, it was presented with grandeur and unforgettable artistry. 

Bringing together hundreds of promising young performers from both our Primary and Secondary Divisions, the Variety Show offers audiences a dazzling feast of stunning visuals and vibrant music. We extend our deepest gratitude to our talented students—young performers, musicians, dancers and helpers; and to our distinguished instructors, guests, parents, teachers and staff for their unwavering support. Your presence honors not only the fruits of our students’ hard work, but also the flourishing of aesthetic growth and shared creativity across our school community. 

At the heart of this production is unity. Students from across our Primary and Secondary Divisions came together through the String Ensemble, Junior and Senior Choirs, A-Singers, Chamber Boys’ Choir, Treble Choir, Piano Soloist, Orchestra, Jazz Dance Team, Chinese Dance Team—blending voices, movements, and instruments into one shared artistic journey. We were also honored to feature Mr. Anders Hui, our distinguished Artist-in-Residence, and Ms. Charlie Yip, alumna and guest singer, whose contributions brought this story vividly to life. 

Rooted in classical themes, The Sound of Music speaks powerfully of hope, home and the unifying power of harmony. 🎼Its triumphant anthem, “Climb Every Mountain”, rises as a heartfelt call to courage and faith—an encouragement to persevere against every odds.  With its blend of classical and contemporary elements from both Eastern and Western traditions, the programme also reflects the diversity, vibrancy and spirit of our school.
