Primary Students Shine at the First Hong Kong Primary School Debating Championship🎉

Our primary students participated in the Hong Kong Primary Schools Debating Championship (HKPSDC) held on 17-18 January 2026, marking the school’s debut in this large-scale, territory-wide debating competition.

We are proud to have Li Pak Kiu, Mak Ching Ling Averie, and Chow Wing Ching Kady from Grade 6 representing our school. 👏🏻

The two-day tournament brought together 32 school teams from across Hong Kong, providing a vibrant platform for intellectual exchange. Competing in the School Teams category, our students demonstrated exceptional critical thinking, teamwork and confident public speaking throughout the preliminary rounds. Their outstanding performance secured them a place in the break, where they ranked just behind two teams from the Diocesan Boys’ School Primary Division.

In the knockout round, the team faced St. Paul’s Co-educational College Primary School and delivered a compelling debate. Despite presenting a well-structured case and persuasive arguments, they narrowly missed advancing further, losing by a margin of only one mark.

This meaningful first experience at HKPSDC is a testament to the students’ dedication, resilience, and potential in competitive debating. We are immensely proud of their accomplishments and eagerly anticipate their continued growth as confident, articulate thinkers and speakers. 🌈
