Caring for Ethnic Minorities Activity Day

News date

In collaboration with the BlessVision Foundation and the Japanese Church Fellowship (JCF), Life Education team organized the “Caring for Ethnic Minorities Activity Day” at Pan Weixiong Gymnasium on 28 June. The event successfully recruited 17 students from Grades 8 to 10 as student volunteers, who assisted in group activities and games alongside approximately 80 children from ethnic minorities and Japanese churches. The aim was to foster acceptance and create joyful memories. Student volunteers responsibilities included taking care of children, facilitating games, and assisting with lunch arrangements. The event was primarily conducted in English, with support available in Japanese, and offered volunteer hours for students’ OLE portfolios.

All participants thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially the Japanese-style games and various team competitions. The free play in the afternoon session provided a valuable opportunity for authentic interactions between our students and the children.

We are grateful for the support from all participants and look forward to more opportunities to connect and make a positive impact in our community.
