<<🗺️Thrilling Ocean Adventures in Grade 6 PBL: Breakwaters! 🌊>>

News date

Our Grade 6 students are diving deep into fascinating projects about the ocean, coral reefs, and innovative breakwater designs that help protect our coastlines from waves and erosion. What an inspiring way to blend science, engineering, and environmental care!

We are absolutely delighted to welcome Prof. K.W. Chow (CHOW Kwok Wing), Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Hong Kong (HKU). With a stellar background—including studies at Caltech, a PhD from MIT, and extensive expertise in fluid mechanics, wave propagation, nonlinear dynamics, solitons, and coastal engineering—Prof. Chow brings world-class knowledge directly to our students.

🌊In this engaging session, students will:
Discover key engineering concepts behind wave dynamics and coastal protection
Explore models of wave tanks and creative shore/breakwater designs
Experience university-level lectures and cutting-edge research in action

This hands-on experience will spark their curiosity, broaden horizons, and inspire students to think like innovative engineers tackling real-world challenges for our oceans and planet. 🌏

A huge thank you to Prof. Chow for sharing his passion and expertise with our young innovators!
