We are delighted to share the outstanding achievements of our chess players at the TCA 16th ISF Academy Chess Open, held in early March. This prestigious event, one of the largest scholastic chess competitions of the year, brought together nearly 350 players from Hong Kong, Macau and Shenzhen, competing across seven exciting rounds for top honours.

4th Place Team – HKBU Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School
5th Place Team – Christian Alliance International School
6th Place Team – Diocesan Boys School

While the spotlight shines on the winning team, we also celebrate the wider chess community at A-School. Supported by the Mathematics Club, 8A Tam Yuen Shun Wil have helped teammates strengthen their openings and endgame techniques. A special thank you to Mr. Jerry Leung for his support in enabling our students to participate in chess competitions.  

Earlier this year, several teams also participated in the Hedon Interschool Chess Doubles Championship 2026, gaining valuable experience during their chess journey:

Team Cosine (9D Leung Yu Hin & 8D Ng Yeuk Tin Nicholas)

We are incredibly proud of this student-led initiative. Despite limited prior experience and multiple challenges, the team organized weekly training sessions after school starting in October. Their commitment and passion have led to remarkable progress in a short time.🙌🏻
