Examination Results of GCE AL & HKDSE 2024
Our students continued to achieve excellent results in the 2024 public examinations, both in the GCE A-Level and HKDSE Examinations.
In the GCE A-Level upper class, our 44 students consistently demonstrated a standard of excellence. 12 students (over 27%) achieved exclusively A* grades in their subjects, while 9 students (21%) attained 4 A*. 13 students (30%) garnered 3 A* or higher, and 50% received at least 2 A*. Remarkably, nearly 75% of all grades awarded were either A* or A, with an impressive 90% falling within the range of A* to B. These extraordinary results, along with exceptional IELTS scores (an overall average of 7.8, with 19% and over half the class achieving 8.5 and 8 or above respectively, and 9 being the highest), have positioned them for admission to renowned universities worldwide.
For the HKDSE, the overall results were satisfying, significantly exceeding the average in Hong Kong. The proportion of candidates attaining all levels and meeting the general admission requirement for JUPAS programs (332A+2) remains well above the Hong Kong average. Among the four core subjects, our students demonstrated a strong foundation in English Language and Mathematics, with 70% attaining Level 4 or above. They particularly excelled in Chemistry, Geography, Economics, Accounting, and Physical Education.
With the outstanding results overall, our graduates were admitted to prestigious institutions such as Imperial College London (QS rank: 2nd), University College London (QS rank: 9th), The University of Hong Kong (QS rank: 17th), The University of Edinburgh (QS rank: 27th), University of Manchester (QS rank: 34th), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (QS rank: 35th), and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (QS rank: 47th), among others.
Our students have gained admission to a diverse array of prestigious programs that reflect their varied interests and aspirations. Among the fields they are pursuing are Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Engineering, Law, Global Business, Biotechnology, Medical Biosciences, Risk Management and Business Intelligence, Sustainable and Green Finance, Artificial Intelligence, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Fine Art, Accounting, Business Administration, Occupational Therapy, Geology, Languages, and Education. This breadth of disciplines showcases not only their academic excellence but also their commitment to making meaningful contributions across multiple sectors.
A remarkable accomplishment was achieved by our Grade 4 grade skipper, the youngest HKDSE participant in Hong Kong at the age of 9, who scored 5** in the Mathematics Extended module (M2) and 5* in the Mathematics Compulsory part.
A-School is committed to expanding its partnerships with prestigious tertiary institutions. Among our notable collaborations are the Principal Nomination Scheme with Waseda University in Japan, the University of the West of England (UWE), and the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Additionally, we offer a STEM Dual High School Programme with the University of Missouri - Kansas City in the United States. These initiatives empower our students to pursue a variety of pathways that align with their individual aspirations and goals.
