“A-Step Forward” – 2017 Project-based Learning Showcase

The term of Project-based Learning (“PBL”) is held every year and the key objective is to instil the positive attitudes and generic skills in knowledge application into students, such as collaboration, problem-solving skills, creativity and critical thinking. The theme of PBL 2017 is ‘A-Step Forward’. We want to encourage students to take a ‘step forward’ to explore and study the problems in our society beyond the classroom, and take another ‘step forward’ to suggest solutions to make our world a better place to live.

On the event day, the school campus was filled with fun and lively atmosphere. Booths can be found in school hall, indoor gymnasium and various classrooms, and all the visitors were impressed by the excellent works and presentations done by our students. It is our honour to have Miss Chan Yuen Man, Amy, JP, District Officer (Sha Tin) and Ir Edmund K H Leung, SBS, OBE, JP, Chief Officer of Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation to be our Guests of Honour in the Prize Presentation Ceremony. Both gave us very inspiring and meaningful speeches, and presented prizes to the winners.  Finally, G7 Champion went to the group of “Comparison between Residential Buildings Planning in China and Hong Kong (中港居住樓宇規劃的比較)” while G8, G9 and cross-grade Champion went to the group of “How can we set up a local group that would be recognised internationally by the younger generation as successful artists in the music industry”.

The School is dedicated to uphold the mission of “catering to the whole person, putting students’ needs first at all time”, so that a balanced development in virtue, wisdom, physical strength, sociability, aesthetic endeavours and spirituality can be achieved.
