Welcome Back Students (Primary Division)

News date

We welcomed our first and second graders back to school today for face to face lessons. There was a lot of excitement in the air. The children were greeted at the gate with a friendly robot, Pepper, who welcomed them to school and also reminded them to keep washing their hands. Pepper was very entertaining with his songs as well.

Next on the agenda was a tour of the school. Our students enjoyed learning about endangered species and how to protect them by visiting our very own Endangered Species Museum based in the secondary section of the school. A stop at the Greenhouse Garden on the rooftop was informative with students learning about the plants we grow here in school. Our gardening expert talked to them about the different varieties of fruits, vegetables and other plants grown there. Next up was a visit to the Indoor Jogging Track where the children put their maths to real life use by using a trundle wheel to measure the length of our fabulous jogging track. No trip around the school could ever be complete without a visit to the Roman Garden where our librarian (in a lovely Harry Potter costume) guided the students in engaging in reading in a beautiful outdoor environment. Our parent volunteers will continue helping out in the library to support the school’s strong reading culture. The trip culminated with a visit to our Performing Arts Theatre where the students took a group photo with Pepper robot and also filmed a short video message with Chinese New Year greetings.

It has been a great start to the school year and we look forward to welcoming back our other grades soon.
