Softball Legacy in A-School

News date

Softball is a straightforward yet mentally challenging sport. It goes beyond hitting and catching the ball, teaching players how to overcome setbacks continuously and make adjustments to achieve success.

On November 19, the Boys’ Softball Team faced a tough overtime defeat in the semi-finals against Notre Dame College, with a score of 10:11. However, we rallied back on November 23 to secure a decisive victory over Diocesan Boys' School in the third-place match, triumphing 19:3. This achievement positions us third in this year's All Hong Kong Inter-Secondary School Softball Competition.

On November 22, the Girls’ Softball Team defeated Notre Dame College with a score of 16:0, earning 4th place in this year's tournament.

Building a legacy is never a planned endeavor. From day one, our training has focused on cultivating the right mindset to compete at the highest levels. Competition involves more than just winning; it entails preparation, courage, and nurturing our students' minds, skills and hearts. Victory is merely the outcome of this journey.

While triumph is exhilarating, it's crucial to impart the invaluable lessons of defeat to our students. Each loss presents an opportunity to rise, learn, and emerge stronger. If they can rebound from a significant setback, the possibilities for their achievements are limitless.

As we celebrate 15 years of dedication and growth, we reflect on the countless memories and friendships forged. This legacy isn’t just about trophies; it’s about the spirit of sportsmanship and the shared experiences that will continue to shape our teams in the years to come. Both boys and girls will uphold this ethos, urging one another to enhance their skills and character, ensuring that our collective journey does not end here.

We extend our gratitude to the entire school community for your steadfast support over the past decade and a half. We are excited about what lies ahead and determined to return even stronger next year. No. 13 champion is on the way!
