2024-25 Sha Tin District Outstanding Young People Selection

We are delighted to congratulate Liu Sum Kiu, Elsa, a Grade 11 student and former Vice Chairperson of the Student Union, for receiving the Honourable Mention Award in the 2024-25 Sha Tin District Outstanding Young People Selection. The Selection, organised by the Sha Tin District Youth Programme Committee, aims to inspire and encourage young individuals to strive for personal development and engage actively in community services.

In the project, "Delicacies in Sha Tin", Elsa and her group mates explored the nostalgic restaurants in Sha Tin by uncovering the stories behind them and sharing these narratives with the community. This encouraged local residents to visit and not only taste but experience the unique services. This process not only helped Elsa to discover the warmth of human connections that are often lacking in today's society but also sparked a renewed appreciation among the younger generation for the sentiments of the past.

The event featured activities like a food puzzle and a DIY rainbow throwing game, fostering interaction and allowing participants to exchange for keyrings and “Restaurant Introduction Cards”. In essence, the event aimed to enhance the community's awareness of local eateries and encourage residents to visit these charming old shops, ensuring that these nostalgic establishments continue to thrive.

This recognition highlights her remarkable dedication and commitment to making substantial contributions to the community. Congratulations to Elsa once again!
