A-School Formalized Partnership with Alibaba Cloud

A-School, represented by the Chief Principal Dr. Benjamin Chan and Director of Innovation and Digital Learning Mr. Eric Chan, was invited to the Alibaba Cloud Onwards Summit 2025 to be held in Singapore on 18 and 19 March. The Summit aimed to explore the possibilities of AI and sustainability, tailored for the allies in the academic and education fields.  

Dr. Benjamin Chan and Mr. Eric Chan exchanged views in a meeting with Dr. Stephanie Gao, Vice President of Alibaba Cloud International and Head of Alibaba Cloud Academy and International Website, on A-School’s AI adoption and education, as well as the AI Lab roadmap. They were also invited to a roundtable session whose audiences included professors from East Asia, University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology, etc. A-School is the only K12 to present an AI use case.

Representing A-School, Dr. Chan formalized partnership with Alibaba Cloud by signing a Memorandum of Understanding. The collaboration focuses on four key areas:

(a) Deployment of cloud computing solutions in classrooms; 
(b) Provision of technical training for teachers and students in Hong Kong;  
(c) Implementation of Alibaba Cloud's AI applications on campus, including writing assistance for students and enhanced administrative efficiency; and 
(d) Collaborative research to identify and develop best practices.  

As part of this partnership, Alibaba Cloud will transform A-School's computer lab into a state-of-the-art AI Lab and Skills Center.  

At the gala dinner and award ceremony, A-School was proudly recognized as the "AI Role Model University of the Year”. The recipients of the award also included the University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Macau, National University of Singapore, etc.
