Green Week of Secondary School was held in the first week of April 2017. Green School Unit, ECO Pioneers and biology students jointly organised a series of activities for teachers and students to learn more about environmental protection and green lifestyles.
The theme this year was “Upcycling, sustainable agriculture and food crisis”. Game booths and workshop of making “3D holograms” reused unwanted materials in school, and participating students found upcycling both fun and meaningful. Hydroponics and aquaponics demonstrations introduced students to these new modes of agriculture, which conserves water and reuses animal wastes directly. Book exhibition, music sharing and “tattoos” with green messages were proven appealing to students. Inter-chamber Green Knowledge Quiz brought the Green Week to a climax. We have received a lot of positive feedbacks from teachers and students and they look forward to next year’s Green Week.
